I am a qualified Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist, Master of NLP, motivational life coach and practitioner of EFT, SRT, BWRT and OldPain2Go.
I also have a counselling skills certificate and years of experience working with a wide range of people, helping them to make significant life changes and achieve their goals by identifying and overcoming issues that are holding them back.
My approach to each client and their individual needs draws on the above experience and skill sets. I find combining all these techniques and resources is particularly effective for fast, effective change.
Clients are also given tools for self- hypnosis to be taken away and used in daily life to support and strengthen their results.
Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
The British Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis states:
“In therapy, hypnosis usually involves the person experiencing a sense of deep relaxation with their attention narrowed down, and focused on appropriate suggestions made by the therapist.”
In this deeply relaxed state the conscious mind is quiet and the subconscious mind is alert, allowing the hypnotherapist to make powerful, appropriate suggestions based on the desired outcomes of the client.
The subconscious mind can absorb these suggestions to facilitate deep, fast, effective changes in habits and behaviours unable to be changed by conscious willpower alone.
Maybe you’ve wondered why on earth you know all the reasons you should quit smoking, stop biting your nails, not be scared of spiders etc., etc. But you just can’t seem to stop yourself despite knowing this? Put simply, the reason is your conscious and subconscious minds are just not communicating properly with each other.
Hypnotherapy and NLP help our conscious and subconscious minds to communicate and work together towards the same goal.
Unlike the stage hypnosis seen in performances and on TV, clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy is an extremely calm and controlled process with an outcome based only on the needs of the client.
It is a very safe, relaxed and effective form of therapy and in my sessions I always make my clients feel assured that they are in complete control.
Often, people new to hypnotherapy are surprised at the awareness they have during the hypnosis. They have the ability to hear and remember what is being said and the process is, thankfully, wholly unlike the out of control and unremembered manic acts on TV!
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming.
Neuro refers to the brain, the nervous system and the senses.
Linguistic refers to the language we use to communicate with others and ourselves and the other non- verbal ways in which we express how we experience the world.
Programming refers to our behavioural patterns learned through experience and to ways in which these can be changed to achieve specific goals in life.
The NLP practitioner utilises a set of specific and effective NLP listening and communication tools and techniques to collect and gather information from the client in order to understand how they are thinking and feeling.
Having gained insights into an individual’s ways of thinking, the practitioner is able to use these insights to present a unique and personalised therapy to them to help them achieve the results and goals they want.
NLP is proven to be particularly effective for:
- treating phobias
- changing negative thought patterns
- lifting depression
- changing bad habits such as smoking and nail biting, to name but a few.
Hypnotherapy and NLP are very positive therapies, focusing on how to make changes in the now in order to move forward today, rather than analysing and dwelling on past events.
Emotional Freedom Technique is the name give to a series of techniques, combining tapping acupressure points on the face and body with eye movements (EMDR), polarity reversal and thought field therapy.
EFT can help with- amongst many other things – addictive urges, grief, fears, phobias, jealousy, fatigue, anxiety and stress.
Using motivational coaching techniques I can help you in many areas of your personal development.
Maybe you would like to improve your performance at work?
Do you recognise a need to enhance your confidence and communication skills to do better in an interview or presentation?
Perhaps you need to overcome a block or confidence issue in your chosen sport?
Or would benefit from visualisation techniques to motivate you and push you to greater heights?
Motivational coaching techniques and NLP have been used for many years by leading businesses and world- class athletes to successfully enhance performance.
Having been a competitive runner, horse rider and coach for many years, I find this is an area I particularly enjoy working in.
